A bike is a very simple word. If it’s compared with other transportation, bike is the simplest. The bike is the origin of all kinds of land transportation that we know today.
A bike is the safest transport. It is free of pollution and it is can be used to any places that cannot be reach by car. Bike also competed in the local, national and international level.
Recently the development of bike technology is use to show the prestige and the level of its users. However, the most important thing is that by cycling we can have good health.
The right of Loufmaschine (running machine) had been patent in 1917 to Karl Von Drais from Germany. But media still call the bike without pedals as draisine. It’s moved by feet that step on the earth like running between two wheels. By this invention, Karl Von Drais considered important to be given bike inventor conferral by International Cycling History Conference (ICHC).
The wooden bike with 22 kg weight was competed in Ipswich England for the first time. 50 years later, the running machine turned into velocipede. Around the end of 1860s, the term cycling is popularized in France with the name Le Velocipede Bicycle. After the instruction of the ICHC, there were some countries that also claimed themselves as the first cycling inventor by showing some of their evidences, and they are German, English, France or Italian. Like the English man of letters, Lord Charles Beresford says, “Whoever invented the bicycle deserves the thanks of humanity” |
